Stem cells are unspecialized cells found in multicellular organisms that develop into many different or specialized cell types.  The stem cells can specialize into liver cells, muscle cells, blood cells, and other cells with specific functions by the process of differentiation. Their main function is to renew and repair.

Adiva Group of Hospitals held a brainstorming session on Woman Issues on 21st February, 2010, in Le Meridian, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The event commenced with a welcome speech by Mr. G.S Matharoo, CEO Adiva, which he started with putting forward an old proverb “God could not be every where, therefore he created mothers.” Describing Adiva, he shared, “Adiva is a place where, we know that birth takes a woman from one place in her life to completely another one. For the couples who have not been blessed with a child, Adiva comes in action to provide the best of treatment through specialized IVF doctors and thus gets to positive results.” Mr. Matharoo described the goals of Adiva which is reaching the parts of India and overseas, and making everyone, especially the rural population aware about the benefits of IVF. He even put forward the future plans of Adiva, which aims at starting at least 10 hospitals in Delhi & NCR within a span of 1 year, one of which is the biggest one coming up in Indirapuram with about 200 beds to be operational by December, 2010. The pilot hospital which is located in Anand Lok is already equipped with the finest equipment in the world. Mr. Matharoo’s speech concluded with the fact that Adiva has everything that makes a difference between ordinary and extraordinary and whose wonders cannot be defined but only experienced.

The brainstorming session on Woman Issues

Covered by the established news channel Delhi Aaj Tak, this event was attended by many renowned professionals from the medical field, some of who were:

  • Dr. Dinesh Bhargava (Aesthetic Cosmetic Surgeon) who talked on Trends in Aesthetic Plastic Surgeries and talked about a physician’s role in the same.
  • Dr. Shubha Sagar who discussed about Which Hormonal Investigation to do when, Hyperprolactinemia & Infertility.
  • Dr. Rita Bakshi who talked on the very important issue of contemporary society, Female infertility. She described what infertility is all about along with its causes. Dr. Bakshi even spoke about the In Vitro-fertilization (test tube babies), its ideal candidates, the procedure and side effects of the same.
  • Dr. Col R.K Sharma (ART specialist research) who presented a presentation on Male Infertility. He also explained the causes of male infertility and various treatment options.
  • Dr. (Mrs.) K. Madan who shared talks on Management of Endometriosis
  • Dr. Anita Sabharwal who played a major role in making this event successful as she coordinated the whole event and made it a memorable one.

The event had many attractions for more than 150 people who witnessed this successful event which included 3 lucky dip prizes for the guests, followed by cocktails and dinner.

The famous Indian movie Delhi-6, a story about love, hope and self discovery set in the walled city of Delhi (Chandni chowk- zip code 6), has inspired a yet another event and has sprinkled flavor of the famous Delhi-6 in an event held by Adiva (IVF, Endoscopy & birthing specialty centre.)

The carnival organized by Adiva on 27.12.09 at Aerens estate, Vasant Kunj was a sensation. The grandeur was witnessed by about 105 families out of which, more than 140 individuals were doctors who enjoyed carnival to the fullest. This carnival was the most exciting one and had something remarkable in store for people of all age groups.

The carnival was based on theme “Delhi-6” and a lot of things like mouthwatering snacks, chaat and sumptuous lunch complimented this theme, reminding people of Chandni Chowk- Delhi-6, the famous place in the city of Old Delhi.

In addition to delicious treats, some exhilarating elements made this event all the more thrilling, enjoyable and inviting. These were Lucky draw to try your luck, Tarot card reader to give you a look at the happenings that may take place in your future, pandit ji, parrot walle pandit ji, mehndi walla, tatoo making corner, bangles walla, sketch artist, nail art corner and hair styling corner. Moreover, the carnival offered engaging things like baggi ride, Camel ride, games stalls which were major attractions for kids.

Adiva (IVF, Endoscopy & birthing specialty centre) organized this Combined Medical Education (CME) meeting at Hyatt Regency, New Delhi on 12th Sept. About 72 doctors attended the forum which commenced with impressive lunch spread at its scheduled time – 1:00pm and ended by 4:00pm with High Tea.
